“Libertas!” Orientation Two 2010

To: O2 Libertas Orientees

On Wednesday, 3 February 2010. A date to be remembered by our 17 year olds as they complete the new Lignum experience. We hope that we have given you a memorable time here in NJC.

Two years, just 2 years. That’s all the time you will spend here. I do agree that it is very hard to build any strong feelings for the school in just 2 years, not including studying for your A levels. But it can be done! Take a look at you’re OGL’s! about three quarters of them are from mainstream as well. They love NJC, and more so, they love Lignum.

Sadly, not all of you will remain in Lignum after the orientation, for you will all be sorted into your classes. Still, we wish you will love your new house just as we love lignum. on behalf of all OGLs, we wish you a fruitful and happy journey here in National Junior College.

From: Lignum OGLs, Lignum Councillors, Lignum HAT.

“And there came those who mock/complain that Lignum had the stupidest/uncool-est house animal there could ever be.

Aerius, the Falcon to Soar within the eternal sky, never falling down

Aqua, the Orca to Surf within the enduring sea that never dries

Ignis, the Phoenix burning within the flames of passion, forever

Solaris, the Lion with roars of might, the light that never fades

Terra, the Gazelle to run freely within the fields, never to be caught

Lignum, the Beaver with buck tooth that gnaws trees, an enormous tail which slaps those in the way.

After all, we’re just about the cutest house there could ever be, Beat That…”
